BLC Heritage Festival Dinner & Bake Sale
Brandon Lutheran Church will host their annual Heritage Festival Dinner and Bake Sale on Sunday, Oct. 15. Baked goods may be purchased 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinner – featuring homemade lefse - will be served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children (ages 6-12); children 5 and under are free. Adult carryout dinners are also available.
 
Battle of the Bulge is topic of Sunday’s Military History Night
The Battle of the Bulge is the topic of this Sunday’s Military History Night. Hosted by the Charles R. Doman American Legion, the program begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Legion Hall in Valley Springs
 
VS Legion soup supper is Oct. 21
Charles R. Doman American Legion Post 131 will serve up its monthly soup supper 5-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Legion Hall. Soup, chili, chips, cornbread and drinks will be served.
 
BAFP’s October needs
The Brandon Area Food Pantry needs for October are spaghetti sauce, canned carrots, strawberry jam, Pop Tarts, canned frosting, taco sauce, paper or Styrofoam plates.  Before donating food, please check expiration dates. Monetary donations are also appreciated.
The BAFP is open 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 406 Main Ave. 
 
Brandon Expo is Nov. 11
The 2017 Brandon Expo is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at Brandon Valley High School.
Registration for booths (including non-Chamber member businesses) is now open through the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and range in price from $100 to $500.
The event will also feature a “’Kidpreneurs’ with Big Ideas” market designed to engage children in entrepreneurial thinking and foster their natural, enterprising spirit.

Give cans to the Lions 
The Brandon Lions Club welcomes donations of aluminum cans, which help fund requests for vision and hearing impairment needs. Cans may be brought to the Lions shed in the Sunshine Foods parking lot.
 
Brandon Transit 
Brandon Transit is a public transit system and offers rides to all ages for local activities and appointments. The cost is $1.50 per one-way ride. Anyone over 60 years old may donate.
Brandon Transit operates 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
