Military History Night
The Charles R. Doman American Legion Post 131 will host its monthly Military History Night at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20. This month’s topic is South Dakota Air National Guard History and Operation.
The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
BV’s Got Talent Show
Auditions for the 2019 BVHS Fine Arts Boosters “Brandon Valley’s Got Talent Show” will be held after school Friday, Feb. 8 in the Performing Arts Center.
The Talent Show is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, also in the Performing Arts Center.
BVSD Early Childhood Developmental Screening
Brandon Valley School District will conduct free childhoold development screenings from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at Brandon Elementary.
Screenings are free for all children from birth to age 4 who live in the Brandon Valley School District. The South Dakota School for the Deaf will also conduct free hearing screenings at this time.

If your child is eligible for kindergarten in the fall, kindergarten screening will be held March 4-8.
BVSD kindergarten screening
Brandon Valley School District is accepting registrations for the 2019-20 kindergarten screening process. Any family who has a child that will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2019, will be eligible to start junior kindergarten or kindergarten next fall. Screenings will be the week of March 4.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to call the proper attendance center their child will attend to register: Robert Bennis Elementary – 582-8010; Fred Assam Elementary – 582-1500; Brandon Elementary – 582-6315; Valley Springs Elementary – 582-2948.
Any child attending junior kindergarten this year (2018-19) does not need to repeat the screening process.
