Time to ‘fall back’
Daylight Saving Time comes to an end at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4. Remember to turn your clocks back one hour.
 
Nov. 3 is next Brandon leaf drop-off day
City of Brandon will have its second of three free leaf drop-off days from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. Brandon residents are invited to bring bags and cans of leaves to the Sunshine Foods parking lot, where Marv’s Sanitary will have Dumpsters and trucks on site. Only leaves and mulch will be accepted, no branches.
The final leaf drop-off day is Saturday, Nov. 17.

Where to vote Nov. 6
Here’s a quick rundown of polling sites for Districts 10 and 25 voters in the BV Journal coverage area: District 10 – Brandon Golf Course, 2100 E. Aspen Blvd.; Mapletown Township Hall, 47417 258th St.; Brandon City Hall, 304 S. Main Ave.; and Brandon Fire Station, 401 N. Sioux Blvd. District 25 –Charles R. Doman American Legion, 615 Broadway Ave., Valley Springs; and Split Rock Fire Station, 7201 E. Arrowhead Pkwy., Sioux Falls.
Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6.
 
BAFP’s October needs
The Brandon Area Food Pantry needs for October are Stove Top stuffing, Hamburger Helper, muffin and cookie mixes, boxed potatoes, fruit snacks, hot chocolate mix, sugar and laundry detergent. 
Before donating food items, please check expiration dates. Monetary donations are also appreciated.
The BAFP is also accepting used eye glasses and hearing aids on behalf of the Brandon Lions Club.
The BAFP is open 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 406 Main Ave. To learn more, call 605-582-7001.
