Tim Bjorkman will be in Brandon on Thursday, Oct. 25.
The congressional candidate is holding a meet-and-greet from 5:30-7 p.m. at Tailgators, 1013 N. Splitrock Blvd. All are welcome to attend.
Bjorkman, a fifth-generation South Dakotan and former circuit court judge who lives in Canistota, is making his first run for partisan office. The Democratic candidate for South Dakota’s lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives is basing his campaign on change and fundamental reform.
 
Hockey Mom Night at Divine Treasures
Before the hockey season gets underway, Divine Treasures will host a Hockey Mom Night starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at the store, 204 E. Holly Blvd.
 
Bottoms Up Pink Ladies 5K run/walk
Bottoms Up Pink Ladies will host a Halloween Close Enough 5K Run/Walk from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes as they run/walk to help raise funds for people fighting cancer.
Cost is $25 for adults (includes t-shirt and one free drink card); children are free or $15 (for t-shirt).
Registration begins at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bottoms Up. Runners step off at 2 p.m.; walkers begin at 2:15 p.m.
Early registration is set from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at Bottoms Up.
 
Indoor Marching Band Concert
Brandon Valley Marching Lynx invite the public to their Indoor Marching Concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday Oct. 29. Admission is $5 and BV activity tickets will be honored.
Prior to the concert, the BV Band Parents Association will serve up a Soup Supper from 5-7 p.m. Freewill donations will be accepted.
 
Nov. 3 is next Brandon leaf drop-off day
City of Brandon will have its second of three free leaf drop-off days from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. Nov. 17 will be the final leaf day.
