Brandon Community Foundation Grants
Brandon Community Foundation grant applications are being accepted through 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28. Recipients must be a Brandon or Valley Springs charity. Applications may be downloaded from the BCF website, brandoncf.org and completed applications should be mailed to Brandon Area Community Fund – Chair, P.O. Box 816, Brandon, SD 57005.
The grant awards will be presented at the BCF’s annual Oak & Vine on Friday, Oct. 26 at the Brandon Holiday Inn.
Crazy Days added to Pigskin Classic
Brandon Valley Athletic Booster Club welcomes a new addition to the Saturday, Sept. 8 event, Pigskin Classic Crazy Days. Crazy Days, an endeavor of the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and participating members, was formerly staged as the Brandon Expo. The second annual Kidpreneur Market will also be held in connection with Crazy Days. Crazy Days will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and the Kidpreneur Market is from 8 a.m.-noon in the Brandon Valley High School commons. Admission is free.

Bethany’s Cool Car Show is tonight
Bethany Meadows will host its annual Cool Car Show from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22 on the Bethany campus grounds. Food trucks and entertainment are part of the fun.
Early deadlines
Due to the Labor Day holiday, the deadline to submit editorial content, photos and advertising for the Sept. 5 Brandon Valley Journal is 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. The advertising deadline for the Sept. 4 issue of the Brandon Valley Trader is noon, Thursday, Aug. 30.
