Brandon Lutheran ice cream social
Brandon Lutheran Church’s WELCA ice cream social will be held 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at the church, 600 E. Holly Blvd. A free will donation of $8/adult and $5/child is suggested for the event, which includes entertainment, a silent auction, raffle and menu of sloppy joes, chili dogs or hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, chips pie, bars and ice cream.
Spirit of Truth outdoor concert
Spirit of Truth Lutheran Church, 112 E. Annabelle St., Brandon, invites the public to a free outdoor concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 26. by Christian music artist Gary Randall will perform. Lawn chairs are encouraged.
BVHS pre-season band, sports meetings
Pre-season athlete-parent-coaches meetings for Brandon Valley High School cross country, boys golf, football, volleyball, and girls’ tennis program is set for 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 31.

SVE member picnic in Brandon is Aug. 1
Sioux Valley Energy will host one of its “pop up” picnics from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1 at the SVE Service Center in Brandon. Picnickers are encouraged to bring their own chair/blanket.
Pigskin Classic Golf Tourney
Register for the Pigskin Classic Golf Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 11. The 4-person scramble tees off at 8 a.m. at the Brandon Golf Course. Cost is $60 per player. Register by Aug. 1.
