BVHS pre-season band, sports meetings
Pre-season meetings for Brandon Valley High School band and fall sports are scheduled. All meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 23 – Marching band student-parent-director meeting; Tuesday, July 24 – Competitive cheer and dance, softball and boys and girls soccer athlete-parent-coaches meeting; Tuesday, July 31 – Cross country, boys golf, football, volleyball, girls tennis athlete-parent-coaches meeting.
Valley Springs branch/leaf site open
Valley Springs residents may bring leaves, grass clippings and branches to the city brush site from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays and 4-7 p.m. Tuesdays. The site is monitored and is intended for city residents only. Users will need to furnish proof of ID. Trees and grass should be dumped in designated areas; tree limbs and branches should be placed on the brush pile. No trash or concrete is allowed at the site.
Register for Brandon Adult Volleyball
Registration deadline for the 2018-19 Brandon Adult Volleyball (men’s and women’s) season is Aug. 1. Cost per team is $120. Checks should be made payable to Brandon Adult Volleyball Assoc. and mailed to P.O. Box 636, Brandon, SD 57005.
Registration information should include desired league: A, B or C; team name and league played in last year; team name; captain’s address, cell number and email address. A captain’s meeting is set for 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 at the Brandon Pizza Ranch.

BCF grant deadline
Applications are being accepted for 2018 grant awards from the Brandon Community Foundation. Applications may be downloaded on the BCF website, brandoncf.org/applygrant. Deadline to apply is Sept. 28.
