Pool opens Saturday
Brandon’s community pool is set to open Saturday. Daily open swim times are 1-5 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m.
Family swim time is 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; Lap swim is 5-5:45 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; water aerobics is 5:45-6:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday 5:45-6:30 p.m.. The wading pool is open daily from 1-5 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m.
Season passes are available for purchase on the city website, cityofbrandon.org.
Shelby Fritz is the pool manager this season, and the pool number is 582-7555.
Sunday is Stadium Field Memorabilia Day
Brandon Valley School District has scheduled Sunday, May 27 as Stadium Field Memorabilia Day. BVSD employees/volunteers for games/meets may grab their piece of the field from 1-2 p.m. From 2-3 p.m., all other BVSD residents will be allowed to gather their own piece of the field.
BVSD will not provide transportation, equipment or tools for this event. No large equipment, including Bobcat type machinery will be allowed inside the stadium gates. Questions should be directed to Activities Director Randy Marso at randy.marso@k12.sd.us.
Entry to the stadium will be through the east gate only. A free-will donation box will be available at the gate. All donations will go to BVSD K-12 Angel Funds to assist students and families.
BVHA selling raffle tickets for boat
Brandon Valley Hockey Association is selling raffle tickets for a 2018 Lund 1650 boat, 60HP Mercury motor and Shorelander Trailer, and more. Tickets are $20 each and may be purchased from any BV IceCat player or email info@brandonvalleyhockey.com. Other prizes include a weekend for six in the Black Hills, Sioux Falls Stampede and Canaries suites, $1,000 Diamond Room gift card, seven-piece patio set, two Ruger 10-22 guns, Valley Fair tickets and hotel for four, Twins tickets and hotel for four and more. The drawing date is July 15.
