Easter Egg Hunt on tap for Saturday
The Valley Springs Community Club will host their annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16 on the grounds of Valley Springs Elementary.
Easter Carnival is Saturday
Susie Meyer is hosting a “no candy” Easter Carnival and Easter Egg Hunt from 9:30 a.m.-12 noon Saturday, April 16 at 48148 258th St. Brandon. There will also be carnival games, prizes, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, an Easter Egg Hunt, live animals and outdoor games.
There is a $10 fee per child and proceeds will go to the Risen Savior Youth Group.
Two positions open on BV School Board
The filing period for two, three-year terms on the Brandon Valley Board of Education is now open and closes at 5 p.m. Friday, May 13. Nominating petitions may be picked up at the Central Office, 300 S. Splitrock Blvd., between the hours of 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The chairs of longtime board member Renee Ullom and Dr. Gregg Talcott are up for election. Talcott has announced that he will not be seeking re-election, while Ullom has said she will seek another term.
If more than two candidates file, an election will be held on Tuesday, June 21.
Good Friday hymn sing at BV Baptist
Brandon Valley Baptist Church will host a Good Friday hymn sing at 5:30 p.m., Friday, April 5, followed by a potluck. All are asked to bring a dish to pass.
VS Legion Soup Supper is April 22
The Charles R. Doman American Legion Post will host a soup supper from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, April 22 at the Legion Hall.
Arise With the Guys is April 23
Arise With the Guys, an annual men’s-only event where professional and collegiate athletes share inspirational messages of faith, Godly values and legacy building, will be offered in Brandon this year. The event begins at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, April 23 at Brandon Valley Assembly of God Church, 201 Sioux Blvd. The event is free.
Pancake Breakfast is April 24
American Legion Post 318’s annual Pancake Breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at the Brandon VFW. A free will offering will be accepted. Proceeds will got to the Gold Star Family Monument.
