Just a reminder that Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 13. Remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday.

Free movie night at

BV Baptist

Brandon Valley Baptist Church invites the public to a free movie night beginning with snacks at 6 p.m. and the movie, “I Still Believe,” at 6:30 p.m. Friday March 11. BV Baptist is located at 400 Splitrock Blvd.

 

Family Bingo Night at the VFW

The Splitrock Council 13400 of the Knight of Columbus are teaming up with the Brandon VFW for a night of family bingo from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, March 12. Cards are 25 cents each and payout is 50/50 of each game’s take.

 

Nominations sought for BVSD ‘Teacher of the Year’

Do you know an exceptional teacher who is inspiring, devoted and making a difference? Then nominate them for Brandon Valley’s 2022 Teacher of the Year award.

Nominations for BV’s Teacher of the Year will be accepted from parents, students and staff. The educator must have taught in the BVSD for at least five years. Nomination forms are available in any of the school building offices, on the BVSD website or the BV Administration Center. Forms must be submitted with two letters of recommendation no later than Monday, April 4 at any BV school of the Administration Center.

The Teacher of the Year will be announced at the BV Employee Recognition Banquet on Tuesday, May 3.

 

Next indoor farmer’s market is Saturday

The next indoor farmer’s market at Faith United Church, 800 N. Splitrock Blvd., Brandon, is planned from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12. Twenty-four vendors will be selling their wares this month.

The indoor farmer’s market continues through April, at which time it moves outdoors to the Brandon Retail Center parking lot located along Splitrock Boulevard.

 

March needs at the BAFP

March needs at the Brandon Area Food Pantry are Manwich, Suddenly Salad, cookies, mustard, saltine crackers, bottled juice, Knorr Sides (rice and noodles) and Styrofoam plates.

To make appointments for either pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may also be dropped off at the BAFP.
