Suicide intervention class

A free training in suicide intervention for military personnel, veterans and families will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Heritage Lutheran Church, Brandon. The class includes breakfast and lunch. Email jeff@warrior180.org or call 270-925-9873 to register.

Food Pantry needs

The Brandon Area Food Pantry is currenly seeking Pop Tarts, canned frosting, canned carrots, strawberry jam, taco sauce and paper or Styrofoam plates. Before donating food please check expiration dates. Monetary donations are also appreciated. The BAFP is open 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Early Childhood Developmental Screening

Brandon Valley School District will hold its annual early childhood screening from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Brandon Elementary. Screenings are free for children from birth to age 5 in the BVSD.Make an appointment at brandonvalley.k12.sd.us/spec_serv or call 605-582-3446.

Family Fun Fest

Enjoy food and old- fashioned games from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at McHardy Park. Sponsored by Hoover’s Martial Arts, Circuit Fitness and Brandon EDGE, Family Fun Fest is $5 per person or a donation to the Brandon Area Food Pantry.

Men in Mission Banquet

Brandon Lutheran Church, 600 E. Holly Blvd., will host the sixth annual Men in Mission Banquet and Silent Auction from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1. For tickets, email pastordan@brandonlutheran.org or call 582-3401. Tickets are $10 for youth (12 and under) and $15 for adults.

Water meeting Oct. 10

The city of Brandon is holding a public forum to discuss water supply and infrastructure at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the Brandon Golf Course, 2100 Aspen Park Rd.
