Supe's On: Thank you to America’s veterans

By:
Dr. Jarod Larson, BVSD superintendent

In observance of Veterans Day, there will be no school on Thursday, Nov. 11. Veterans Day serves as an opportunity to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism and willingness to serve and sacrifice for our country.

Perhaps stated best by our 40th United States President Ronald Reagan, “We remember those who were called upon to give all a person can give, and we remember those who were prepared to make that sacrifice if it were demanded of them in the line of duty, though it never was. Most of all, we remember the devotion and gallantry with which all of them ennobled their nation as they became champions of a noble cause.”

On behalf of the Brandon Valley School District, we would like to thank all those who have sacrificed, served, and are serving in our nation’s military.

Fall activities are winding down, and in many cases have concluded. Our students and staff have done an excellent job over the course of the fall season. I would like to congratulate them on all their various successes and accolades and wish those still in season the very best of luck as they proceed forward. Activities promote and teach students valuable skills and life lessons such as: communication, hard work, discipline, acceptance of a role, and teamwork. Supporting students in a positive sportsman-like manner is essential. As adult spectators and role models, we must demonstrate and model appropriate behavior as little eyes are upon us. Go Lynx!
