Supe's On: Strategic planning begins with Dec. 12 public meeting

By:
Dr. Jarod Larson, BVSD superintendent
On Monday all across the district, a distinct effort was made by staff to promote positive student character. Engaging our students in activities and critical discussions that reinforce and demonstrate the importance of being respectful, responsible, safe, kind, and active learners is a key element of “The Lynx Way” initiative. Character education is everyone’s business. Together, we can promote and support positive character development in our children.
As previously reported, our district is engaged in strategic planning. Our various Focus Groups are meeting to work the process and develop our district’s strategic plan. There are two public strategic planning meetings scheduled. The first public strategic planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the Brandon Valley High School Community Room. All patrons are invited to attend. Within the initial phase of the process, we will be reviewing our current Core Operating Principle, Mission, and Belief Statements. In addition, we will discuss foundational beliefs for the district’s long-term success, strengths and opportunities for growth, and some current happenings within the district.
There will be no school Wednesday through Friday for Thanksgiving break. I hope all have the opportunity in the coming days to spend time with family and friends - Happy Thanksgiving!
Go, Lynx!
