Supe's On: Parent-Teacher Conferences: Attend. Engage. Discuss

By:
Dr. Jaro Larson, Superintendent of Brandon Valley Schools

Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences offer parents and guardians an opportunity to engage in critical conversation with teachers about their child’s educational programming. A child with an engaged adult in their academics is more likely to read at grade level, have appropriate school behavior, and graduate from high school. Your active participation in your child’s education is a key to their success.

The Brandon Valley School District will be hosting Parent-Teacher Conferences from 3:30-9:30 p.m. on the following dates:

• Monday, Oct. 3 - Elementary Buildings / Brandon Valley High School

• Tuesday, Oct. 4 - Brandon Valley Intermediate School / Middle School

We strongly encourage all parents and guardians to attend conferences and be actively engaged in your child’s education. Attend – Engage – Discuss. Attend conferences. Engage with your child’s teacher(s). Discuss what was shared at conferences with your child.

Meaningful engagement and follow-up have the power to propel a child to new levels of academic success. Communicating and reinforcing the importance of an education to our children is essential. Together, we promote an outstanding educational experience for our children.
