Supe's On: Deadlines, registrations and dates to note

The elementary schools of the Brandon Valley School District are accepting registrations for kindergarten screening. A child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020 to be eligible to start kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year. Please, contact your respective elementary attendance center for more information and to register for kindergarten screening.

Parents and guardians can support their child’s kindergarten readiness by reading to their child daily, working on letter, number, and color recognition, and engaging in activities that promote fine and gross motor skill development. Additionally, working on social skills and how to follow two or three step directions is also critical. Most importantly, keep your kindergarten readiness activities fun. With fun practice, you can help prepare your child for their elementary school debut.

Last call! The deadline to get your child’s semester 2 bus pass is Jan. 10.  The deadline must be met for your child to be able to continue riding the bus for semester 2. We greatly appreciate your timely cooperation with our Transportation Department, as we work to efficiently and effectively transport nearly 2,300 students daily.
