Supe's On: BVSD to utilize technology for P-T conferences

By:
Dr. Jarod Larson, BVSD superintendent
We don’t grow when things are easy. We grow when we face challenges.

Whether limited attendance or unconventional strategies to complete necessary events, COVID-19 continues to present a variety of challenges to us all and has required the utilization of different strategies as we navigate the pandemic. The approach to Parent-Teacher Conferences this fall is no different and leveraging technology to engage our students’ parents and guardians is necessary to reduce exposure and promote a healthy environment for staff and families.

As the Brandon Valley School District continues to navigate the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to our Pandemic Response Plan goals which include:
• Reduce the spread of disease; and
• Maintain educational functions.

While not perfect, it is worth it. Engaging in meaningful conversation with our students’ parents and guardians is important for student success. Regardless of the format, maintaining engagement in your child’s education is critical to their success. We appreciate our BV families’ flexibility and understanding as we strive to create learning environments that result in success under these challenging circumstances. The active involvement of our parents and guardians in semester one Parent-teacher Conferences is greatly appreciated.

Together, we create learning environments that result in success.
