In-step success at the DanZa

Students from Allison’s Dance Academy in Brandon recently competed at DanZa in Omaha, Neb., and came away with an assortment of placings. The Senior Company team captured first in hip hop and won overall best precision at the competition. The team also took first in tap and lyrical and third place in jazz. The Junior Company team claimed first in lyrical, second in tap and third in hip hop. Individual awards were also won by students of Allison’s Dance Academy. Morgan St. Aubin won sixth place with her jazz solo; Stephanie Kessler scored fifth place with her jazz solo and qualified for Star Dancer, a program at the DanZa National Finals; Alayna Porter and Cora Rakebrandt took second place for their hip hop duet; Stephanie Kessler and Taylor Haug won first place for their tap duet; and Shantelle DeMarias won best student choreographer for her hip hop routine. Allison’s Dance Academy is owned and operated by Allison Porter.
