*/Brandon Elementary student council spearheaded a Souper Bowl Food Drive on behalf of the Brandon Area Food Pantry during the week leading up to the big game. Students donated a whopping 1,954 pounds. “The students responded tremendously,” said Matt Gappa, elementary technology coordinator, who suggested the goodwill endeavor. The student council turned the food drive into a competition between the BE elementary grades. Fourth grade came out on top and are being rewarded with an extra 20 minutes of recess.
