The Lynx club bowling teams closed out the first half of their season Friday on the home lanes against league powerhouse, Sioux Falls Washington. The Warriors swept Brandon Valley in both the varsity and junior varsity divisions.
Sophomore Kayla Watkins rolled season bests that included a 246 game and 569 series. Her top performance, however, wasn’t enough to overcome the Warriors, who won 15-10.
BV’s varsity 2 match saw all three girls throw season bests. They, too, suffered a loss to the Warriors, a 24-1 setback.
Senior Elizabeth Braley produced a 408 series and 151 game. Teammates Mel Jacobson added a season-best 150 game and Alice Callahan offered a 375 series to the cause, which is her season-best to date.
The Lynx boys didn’t fare much better against the defending state champs.
Varsity 1 lost 19-9, despite freshman Hunter Meinert’s 210 game and 563 series that was supported by senior Darian Blue’s 204 game.
SFW also controlled the varsity 2 boys’ match, 23-2. Junior Trey Reindl topped the scorecard with a 214 game and freshman Maxwell Kane rolled his season best series, a 602.
The Lynx JV boys also tasted defeat, 36.5-13.5. Season-best scores were recorded by Colton Bultje, 220 game, 537 series; Aidan Jasper, 165 game; Ian Erickson, 186 game and 508 series; Trevor Dean, 122 game and 357 series; and Seth Waldner, 109 game, 309 series.
