Senior Spotlight: Macyn Flanigan

Macyn Flanigan
“If I could have lunch with anyone dead or alive,” this 2019 Brandon Valley High School senior shares, “I would choose to eat with Khaled Hossein, author of The Kite Runner. His work of literature had a huge impact on my life, and I would love to be able to sit down and delve into every aspect of the book with the author himself.”
Although she has yet to declare her major, Jim and Angie Flanigan’s daughter plans to attend the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
At BVHS, she’s been involved with Peer Helpers, volleyball, I Am That Girl and the National Honor Society.
Her favorite school lunch is mini corn dogs. Also on her list of favorites are the Pittsburgh Steelers, the color blue, the movie Dear John, and the music of Avril Lavigne.
Some of her best memories of BVHS include creating a lip dub during 2018 homecoming and winning state championships in football, girls and boys basketball, all which took place in her senior year.
