Senior Spotlight: Lauren Scarbrough

This 2019 Brandon Valley High School senior will take away a memory from high school that none of her classmates will: “Dr. Talcott giving me a tour of the school my sophomore year when I moved here barefoot,” shares the daughter of Marian and Jon Scarbrough.
Music has been a big part of Lauren’s three years at BVHS, as a member of the Marching Lynx and the pit crew for the fall play and spring musicals.
Her future career interest, however, lies in nursing. She’ll gain her degree in the profession – specializing in trauma and emergency room medicine – at Augustana University.
“Open lunch,” is Lauren’s favorite school lunch, and she would choose to have lunch with Malala Yousafzai. “She is such an inspiration to all girls and young teenagers that want to make an impact on the world,” Lauren said. “She is able to make those much older than her listen and respect her, and I think that is something every teenager strives for.”
Among her list of favorites are the Chicago Blackhawks, the color blue, the TV show Live PD, and the music of Twenty-One Pilots.
