Senior Spotlight: Emily Erck

Emily Erck
A cold November Saturday in the fall of 2018 is one of Emily Erck’s best memories of high school.
It was the day the Brandon Valley Lynx overcame a Sioux Falls team to bring home the state AA football hardware.
And Emily was there to celebrate long before kickoff.
“My favorite memory of BVHS was when Fan Van tailgated at this year’s dome championship game in the freezing cold.” she shares. “It was fun!”
Erck likely takes away fond memories from her involvement in the Marching Lynx, HOSA, winter percussion/drumline, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, and of course, the Fan Van.
In addition to her involvement in those activities, she has a part-time job at Beautique in Brandon, plays club softball, ventures out on church-led mission trips, and of course, enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Her favorite school lunch comes from the Erck kitchen itself. “I actually bring my lunch every day because my mom is a great cook,” shares Bill and Lisa Erck’s daughter.
Erck said she’d love to have lunch with her Grandpa Jim. “He’s one of the funniest people I know, and I don’t get to see him a lot,” she said.
A career in nursing or occupational therapy are among her future plans, and she’ll pursue a degree in one at Minnesota State University-Mankato.
The Minnesota Vikings, the color lavender, TV show The Good Doctor, and the music of Dan + Shay highlight her list of favorites.
