Senior Spotlight: Ashley Ask

Ashley Ask’s future is all about the smile.

This 2019 Brandon Valley High School senior will major in biology at Augustana University this fall and will play women’s soccer for the Vikings before venturing on to dental school.

Ashley’s involvements at BVHS have been many: Lady Lynx soccer, Biology Club, HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), Mu Alpha Theta, National Honors Society, SALSA (Serve and Learn Students Association), and Student Council.

Alliance Soccer Club, Renner Lutheran Youth Group and volunteering as a tutor at Brandon Valley Intermediate School have also kept LeRoy and Laura Ask’s daughter on the go.

One of her best memories of high school was the high school soccer team’s sleepover in the big gym.

“It was a great time and an amazing team bonding experience,” she shares.

She lists taco in a bag as her favorite school lunch, and given the opportunity, chooses to have lunch with Rosa Parks.

“She is an influential person who had a huge amount of courage to stand up for what she believed in and she is a huge role model to not only myself but many young minds, too. I aspire in my everyday life to have as much courage as she did,” Ashley said.

Also, among her favorites are the Colorado Rapids and United States women’s national soccer teams, the color blue, the movie The Blind Side, and TV show Friends. Her musical taste is country, citing artists Thomas Rhett, Dierks Bentley and Kane Brown.
