Ronald Edward Rebnord was born on March 20, 1938 to Edward and Frances (Conroy) Rebnord in Sioux Falls. The family lived in Madison and Sioux Falls during the 1940’s. Ron attended school at Cathedral and Washington High School in Sioux Falls.

Ron was married to Diane Volsch, and they were blessed with four children. He was joined in marriage to Betty J. Weston on July 14, 1990 and gained two step-children. He and Betty spent 33 years together enjoying life and family. He always called her his bride and soul mate.

Ron worked in the transportation industry for a total of 32 years at both American Freight Systems and Quast Transfer. He enlisted in the U.S. Army but was medically discharged before having an opportunity to serve. Ron also worked for the Good Samaritan Society. Serving on the board of the Minnehaha County Historical Society for several years, Ron also belonged to the Rotary Club, Elks Lodge, and Moose Lodge. He loved golf, water skiing, and boating until his health prevented him from continuing. Most important to him was being with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Betty Rebnord; children, Cathy (Bob Mildenberg) Perryman of Tea, S.D., David (Marilyn) Rebnord of Buffalo Grove, Ill., and Sandy Cummings of Brandon; daughter-in-law, Renee Rebnord of Sioux Falls; step-children, Forrest (Jamie) Weston of Lubbock, Texas, and Sherri Weston of Sioux Falls. Ron was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Crowe of Sioux Falls; brothers, Frank (Judy) Rebnord of Little Falls, Minn., and Tom (Diane) Rebnord of Duluth, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Frances; his oldest son, Steven in 2015; and son-in-law, John Cummings in 1999.
