Funeral services for Richard L. Nelson, 83, of Sioux Falls, were held Friday, June 8, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church, Garretson. Burial was in the Stordahl Cemetery, rural Dell Rapids.

Mr. Nelson died Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls. 

He is survived by his daughter, Laurie (Michael) Moe, Sioux Falls; son, Ryan (Renee) Nelson, Garretson; step-grandchildren, Amber (Roger) Koppen, Davenport, Iowa; Angela (Garth Johnson) Koch, Arlington; Susan (Ryan) DeWitte and Mitchell (Nikki Elsing) Koch, all of Sioux Falls; sister, Dellene (Rodney) Dubbelde, Sherman; brother, Douglas (Connie) Nelson, White; step-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many special friends, including Mark Erickson, Valley Springs; Todd and Joanne Egge, Brandon; Bob and Janet Caulfield, Placentia, Calif.; and Jason and Laura Erfman, Sioux Falls.
