REALLY? Deliver happiness

One of our core values at Envive is to deliver happiness. I heard a story this last month about the Brandon Valley High School graduating class. When a particular senior’s name was read and he approached to receive his diploma, the whole student body erupted in applause and cheering—a standing ovation for their classmate. I was uplifted and inspired by the story, and I wasn’t even there to experience the energy in person! I can only imagine the impact it made on those present—let alone on the young man for whom the entire student body stood to applaud! This single moment likely will become one of the most life-giving and treasured moments of his life.
Happiness is delivered weekly right here in Brandon to anyone who passes through the Sunshine/Lewis parking lot on a Wednesday morning. Michael Gross decided that our community could use a little more love and happiness, so he has been giving out “free donuts and smiles” since April to spread some good will and develop a friendly, positive energy in our community. What a great way to deliver happiness!
These stories remind us how simple it is to deliver happiness and positively impact the lives of people in our community. What ideas do you have to deliver happiness? Could it be as simple as offering a smile to the “grumpy neighbor”, holding the door for someone, or offering to carry that man’s groceries even though you don’t know his name? Any sincere act of goodness will deliver happiness.
We all genuinely appreciate working with people who show a sincere interest in our happiness, and it really doesn’t take much effort. The most happiness in life comes from delivering happiness to others—especially in the small, “unimportant” ways that may seem underappreciated. Why do we see so many teachers, nurses, soldiers, missionaries, firefighters, police officers, etc. who genuinely love what they do–despite their daily hardships? Pouring into others may not change the world, but one gentle act of delivering happiness might change one person’s world.
