MCAP marks 35 years with open house

The Mighty Corson Art Players will celebrate its 35th anniversary with an open house Sunday, Sept. 17, from 4-6 p.m. at the Corson Playhouse. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and cake will be served. 
Pictures and memorabilia from the MCAP’s 35 years of productions will be on display, including the hall’s original painted theater curtain and artifacts from the Corson Dramatic Club (1925-1930) and the Peperites (1935-1940), who also performed at the playhouse. 
A short program will begin at 5 p.m. honoring MCAP organizers, early cast members and fun facts about performances, directors and characters over the years.
A bluegrass and gospel concert will begin outdoors at 7 p.m.

The Mighty Corson Art Players is one of the area’s longest-running community theater groups. 
MCAP will perform its 73rd production, a farce called “Boeing, Boeing,” Oct. 20-22 and Oct. 27-29.
