Marching Lynx take top honors at Rosemount

In their first competition of the 2018 season, the Marching Lynx represented Brandon Valley well at the 29th Annual Rosemount (Minn.) Marching Band Festival on Saturday. BV opened their competitive season by taking top honors in Class AA. BV bested second-place Waseca, Minn., and third-place Rochester Lourdes, also a Minnesota school.
The Lynx won a trio of Class AA caption awards, including Outstanding Drum Major, Outstanding Winds and Outstanding Color Guard.
The Marching Lynx brings their 2018 field show, “The Invention of Wings,” to the 2018 Pursuit of Excellence marching band competition this Saturday at the Regional Events Center at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minn.
BV’s home competition, the Big Sioux Review, is set for Saturday evening, Sept. 29. See next week’s BV Journal for more details.
