Hanna earns NDSU Dean’s List distinction

Jakob Hanna, of Brandon, has been named to North Dakota State University’s spring 2018 Dean’s List. He is enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education. 

Hanna also garnered Summit League Academic All-Honors.

 

Local students named to USF Dean’s List

The University of Sioux Falls has released its Dean’s List for Spring semester 2018, and nearly 500 students made the list. To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale. 

Students from the Brandon Valley Journal coverage area named to the dean’s list are: Brandon -  Bailey Martin, sophomore, biology major; Marina Gillespie, DCP, business; Brittany Jackson, senior, business administration; Lucas Lunstra, senior, business administration and criminal justice; MaRena Dybdahl, sophomore, elementary education; Kaitlyn Nelson, junior, nursing; Kaitlyn Dybdahl, senior, nursing; Payton Livingston, sophomore, psychology; Hope Jackmon, sophomore, social work; Sherman – Jaidyn Henstra, sophomore, professional accounting and business administration; Sioux Falls – Laycee Cain, junior, Spanish and media studies.

 

Hendricks’ volunteerism gains national scholarship

As an involved community member, Hannah Hendrick has devoted numerous hours thoughtfully helping others and improving her community. In recognition of her commitment to serving others, Hendrick, a member of the National Mutual Benefit (NMB), was recently awarded its National Volunteer Service Scholarship. This scholarship honors volunteer action in a member student’s community or school as living out NMBS’s motto, “People helping people in time of need.”

Hendrick, the daughter of Harlon and Heidi Hendrick, started volunteering at age 10. She will attend Black Hills State University, majoring in business administration.

To date, NMB has awarded more than a half a million dollars in national scholarships.
