Dakota State releases 2022 Spring Honors List

A total of 514 full-time and 191 part-time students qualified for the President’s Academic Honors list for the 2022 spring semester at Dakota State University.

The following full-time students achieved a grade point average of 3.5 to 4.0 to qualify for the honors list: Brandon – Maxwell Allmon, Andrew Betanzo, Payton DeJong, Skyler Earley, Tess Eflin, Cameron Gerovac, Brooklyn Grage, Ryan Kaler, Annabelle Klosterman, Brooke Lunstra, Kolbe Montoya, Cole Siegfried, Cole Sylliaasen, Shital Thapa, Brett VanOort; Garretson – Lucas Draper, Dakota Johnson; Sioux Falls – Trey Reindl.

These part-time students qualified for President’s Academic Honors: Brandon – Autumn Driscoll, Karsyn Driscoll, Brennan Meester, Jasmine Parce, Danielle Putnam.

 

Boyum on Benedictine College Dean’s List

Eva Boyum, Renner, was named to the Benedictine College 2022 Dean’s List for the spring semester.

 

Brown awarded Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant

William Brown, Brandon, was awarded a Study Abroad Grant worth $1,000 from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi – the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Brown is one of 125 students nationwide to receive the award.

The grants are designed to support undergraduates, both members and nonmembers from campuses that have Phi Kappa Phi chapters, as they seek expanded knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad.

Currently a junior majoring in human biology and Spanish at South Dakota State University, Brown will use the grant to study abroad in Valencia, Spain.

The selection process for a study abroad grant is based on the applicant’s academic achievement, campus and community service, relation of travel to academic preparation and career goals, a personal statement, letters of recommendation, and acceptance into a study abroad program. Each recipient receives $1,000 to be applied toward travel abroad.

 

Mitchell Tech releases President’s List

A total of 348 students at Mitchell Technical College have been placed on the spring semester 2022 President’s List, including local students from Brandon. McKenna Geringer, Culinary Arts, A.A.S. degree, high honors (3.75-3.99 gpa); Quinn Grode, Wi-Fi & Broadband Technologies, A.A.S., high honors (3.75-3.99); from Valley Springs is Riley Schroeder, Progressive Welding Technology, A.A.S.; and from Garretson are Flint Hartung, Electrical Construction & Maintenance and; Malia Johnson, Medical Assistant.To be named to the list, students must earn a term GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and completed at least 12 credit hours of academic work during the semester

 

South Dakota Mines spring 2022 Dean’s List released

South Dakota Mines has named 587 students to the spring 2022 Dean’s List. To merit a spot on the Dean’s List, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester. Students from Brandon are: Alexander Hentschel, Jacob Jorgenson, Jonah Bebensee, Thaddeus Malsam, Ian Kasten and Zachariah Hentschel; from Garretson is Joshua Powell; and from Sioux Falls, Riley Van Den Top.
