USD releases Fall 2018 Dean’s List
The University of South Dakota announced its Academic Honors and Dean’s List to recognize over 2,200 students for their high academic achievement during the Fall 2018 semester.
Full-time, undergraduate students are named to the Dean’s List if they received a 3.5 GPA for courses they took in the Fall 2018 semester and had no incomplete or failing grades. For part-time students, those with fewer than 12 credit hours, the recognition is called Academic Honors.
Among area students cited are: Brandon - Aly Reinschmidt, Alyssa Fick, Andrew Taverna, Andy Holmes, Aubree Andrews, Avery Sage, Ben Hamann, Chandler Harstad, Cooper Olthoff, Desiree Rohrbach, Emily Kluin, Emily Knouse, Emma Larson, Ezekiel Klosterman, Freya Gayken, Ginger Wardlow, Hannah Pruett, Jason Crumb, Jason Mills, Kailee Duncanson, Kane Tigner, Kate Swenson, Katie Beiningen, Kelsey Frost, Kelsey Koupal, Kianna Thelen, Kinsey Leonard, Levi Sternburg, Mariah Kostal, Megan Swets, Michaela Beckman, Morgan Palmer, Mykayla Palmer, Nathan Bachman, Nick Hanson, Pete Sternburg, Rylea Webb, Samantha Beckman, Sommer West, Spencer Garrett, Sydnee Pottebaum, Tatum Musser, Taylor Gannon and Taylor Freeman; Garretson - Erika Christopherson and Kyrstyn Beck.
 
SD Mines names 633 students to Fall 2018 Dean’s List
For the fall 2018 semester, 633 South Dakota School of Mines & Technology students were named to the Dean’s List. 
In order to merit a spot on the Dean’s List, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester. Full-time students must have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours for the term, while part-time students must have earned between three and 11 credit hours that term. 
Among the area students named to the list are: Brandon - Anthony Ackerman, physics; Kaytie DeWitt, mechanical engineering; Daniel Eitreim, chemical engineering; Michael Frazer Garcia, computer science; Emily Hagge, industrial engineering and engineering management; Evan Tellinghuisen, electrical engineering; Garretson - Joshua Powell, mechanical engineering; Valley Springs – William Trevillyan, chemical engineering/chemistry.
 
Local students named to Dakota State honors list 
A total of 595 full-time and 202 part-time students qualified for the President’s Academic Honors list for the 2018 fall semester at Dakota State University in Madison.
The following area full-time students achieved a grade point average of 3.5 to 4.0 to qualify for the honors list: Brandon – Christopher Anderson, Althea Alaxandra Ascalon, Jacob Bentson, Ryan Kaler, Adam Kelpsteen, Garrett Lambert, Jamie Procida, Mason Rusten, Jordan Van Oort, Michael Walker; Garretson – Kristene Daugaard, Wade Larson, Amanda Nelson, Mara VanDeBerg; Valley Springs - Alison Bodewitz.
