Lynx JV boys golf off to strong start
Brandon Valley’s junior varsity boys golf team is off to a strong start, claiming third place and first place team finishes in two competitions. 
The Lynx claimed third place in the six-team event at Elmwood on Sept. 1, and were guided by Tyler Lahren and Caleb Suprenant, both carding a 39. 
Owen Jorgenson posted a 43 and Cole Murray chipped in a 46. Rounding out the Lynx scores were Jack Riley’s 47 and Will Peterson’s 48. 
BV came away from the Kuehn Park course on Sept. 8 with the first-place team prize. The Lynx registered a 146, besting runner-up Harrisburg, who tallied a 150. Sioux Falls Lincoln (166), O’Gorman (185), Sioux Falls Roosevelt (187) and Sioux Falls Washington (212) rounded out the team scoring.
Suprenant and Jorgenson posted scores of 35 and 36, respectively. Eighth grader Trevon Beckman finished with a 37 and Murray a 38. Jack Riley and Nick Riley, a seventh-grader, contributed respective scores of 41 and 43.
