BASA introduces bumper soccer

The Brandon Area Soccer Association is hosting four sessions of bumper soccer for children entering kindergarten and first grade in July.

The sessions will take place Monday evenings, July 8, 15, 22 and 29. The sessions will last 55-60 minutes. Girls sessions start at 5:45 p.m. and boy’s sessions follow at 6:45 p.m.

Bumper soccer is a special way of playing the game intended to take out restarts and maximize playtime. Spectators sit around the field and simply knock the ball back onto the field when it goes out of bounds.

Bumper soccer sessions will be played at McHardy Park and the public is invited to come watch and help keep the ball in play.

Sign-up for Pigskin Classic Golf Tourney now open

Registrations are now being accepted for the Brandon Valley Booster Club Pigskin Classic Golf Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 10. Proceeds support BVHS athletic programs. Cost is $60 per player.

The four-person scramble will tee off at 8 a.m. and check-in is no later than 7:30 a.m. at the Brandon Golf Course.

Checks should be payable to the Brandon Valley Booster Club.
