Try Hockey for free

Brandon Valley Hockey Association will host a Try Hockey for Free event on Sunday, Dec. 9 at the Brandon Valley IceCats Rink at McHardy Park. Girls will skate from 12:30-1:15 p.m. and boys will take the ice from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. The event is open to all ages and pre-registration is encouraged. To register, visit brandonvalleyhockey.com.

Participants are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes in advance to register and get dressed. Equipment (ice skates, pads and helmet) will be provided and concessions will be available.

 

Splitrock Ladies League

The Splitrock Ladies bowled Nov. 27 with the following results: High team game and series, Jesse James, 899 and 2,601; High individual games, Bonnie Kramer, 206, and Barb Risty, 200, which was 73 pins over her average. High individual series, Marcia Bork, 520.

Gwynne Anderson picked up the 3-10 split; Cheryl Scholl picked up the 2-7 split; Barb Knips bowled 53 pins over her average.

 

Hall of Fame nominations 

Nominations for 2019 induction into the Brandon Valley Athletic Hall of Fame are being accepted through Dec. 22. Nomination forms may be downloaded from the BVHS website under the Booster Club tab, email Bob Logan at lynxlogan@gmail.com or call (605) 261-1308.

The 2019 Hall of Fame Banquet is set for Saturday, March 30 at the Brandon Golf Course.
