Lionel J. Froseth, 84, of Sioux Falls, and formerly of Ponca, Neb., died peacefully in his sleep of natural causes on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Sioux Falls.

He is survived by five children, Kathy (Chuck) Hoekstra, Sioux Falls, SD, Doug (Genie) Froseth, Ramsey, Minn., Becky (Bill) Brennan, Sioux Falls, Liz (Doug) Swenson, Woonsocket, Lynell (Randy) Martin, Burke; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Froseth, Brandon, and Barb (Bob) Morrison, Freemont Calif.; brothers-in-law, Jim (Janice) Mitchell, Sioux Falls, Ron (Roxie) Mitchell, Faribault, Minn.; and many other relatives and friends.
