Letter to the editor: Sheriff endorses Cameron for mayor

I am writing this letter on behalf of TJ Cameron. It is my understanding that he is interested in the position of interim mayor for the City of Brandon.

I knew TJ as a youth growing up in Brookings. Being raised by a single mother, he had the drive and desire to make something of himself. While in school he participated in sports, was involved in Brookings Optimist events and frequently volunteered in the classroom and special needs living facilities.

TJ graduated from high school in three years on the accelerated education program, placing in the top 10 percent of his class. He also served on student council and helped special needs students in school.

I have followed TJ after he left Brookings and am delighted to see him succeed in retail sales. His personality, drive, willingness to help people and community involvement make him an excellent choice for interim mayor of Brandon.
