Letter to the Editor: Conservative Christians, where are you?

With another presidential election fast approaching, I have found myself asking the same question to conservative Christians that I asked in 2015 and 2016. Where are you?! And how could you let a man like Donald Trump lead the way for you as leader? As a man divorced twice, married thrice, a man who cheated on his now-wife with an adult film star while his wife was pregnant, I just can’t help but wonder where your mind was in the voting booth. 

Do you remember the Billy Bush tape? I do, “And if they’re a star, they’ll let you do it ... Grab her by the ...” I won’t go on. When Republicans and conservative Christians alike railed against Bill Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, their Christianity and distaste for infidelity was on full display.

“Impeachment is about cleansing the office. Impeachment is about restoring honor and integrity to the office,” then representative, now Senator Lindsey Graham said. If only we had that Lindsey Graham now. Heck, if only we had THAT Republican Party now. At least they had some backbone and heart. 

Whether it be his lack of compassion, his using fear and anger to set his agenda, his ghastly ego, his obvious lying, his hostility toward women, Muslims and Hispanics, or his disgusting greed, his true colors show a complete lack of what it means to be the leader of the free world. Before you decide in 2020 who you’ll vote for, really think. Look back on his past and decide if you would be comfortable with him in office for four more years. Heck, not only do I not want that, if I had a daughter, I wouldn’t want him in the same room as her. 

Think before you vote.
