Letter to the Editor: 5-star review for the Monarch

Have you gone out to eat lately? Friday, June 12 was a beautiful afternoon; my wife Edie and I went for a Spyder motorcycle ride just around the countryside. We enjoyed the ride and the beautiful scenery.

As it was getting around 5:30 p.m., we just happened to be in the Renner area. Edie and I decided to go to the Monarch Steak House for dinner. Although the dining room was closed, the lounge was open. The tables were separated. The service friendly, the beer cold, the salad fresh and cold, and the bread warm. Edie’s cod was delicious. My steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and hot off the grill. The hash browns were done right. Yes, the prices were a little high (but what isn’t these days). BUT after the meal, the price was worth every penny.

So, if you are looking for a place to eat, give the Monarch in Renner a try. We give it 5 stars.
