Brandon residents are in the midst of circulating petitions for four elected city positions that will expire this May.
As of Tuesday morning, Feb. 12, City Hall had accepted its first nominating petition from Ward 1 resident Tim Jorgensen, who is seeking the vacant one-year position. Alderman Brent Bastian currently fills the chair, but has indicated he does not plan to seek election.
Jorgensen is currently a member of the city’s Planning & Zoning Commission.
Both Ward 2 City Council chairs also expire this spring. Jo Hausman’s four-year term expires in May, and there are two years remaining on the position Dana Clark currently fills. Clark has said she plans to seek election to the council, while Hausman does not.
Petitions are also circulating for the four-year mayoral position, currently held by Paul Lundberg.
Bastian, Clark and Lundberg were all appointed to their respective roles in 2018.
Nominating petitions may be filed at City Hall through 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22.
