Harrisburg challenges BV keglers on home lanes

Staff report
An under-staffed Lynx bowling team carried on Friday when they hosted Harrisburg, despite having one-third of its boys’ team absent, forcing Coach Rich Blue to juggle around the lineups.
The varsity 1 girls were guided by seventh-grader Alexis Shea, who posted two season bests: a 206 game and 574 series. Sophomore Kayla Watkins added a 204 game to lift the Lynx girls to a 16½-8½ victory.
Despite all three members of the Lady Lynx varsity 2 team rolling their season-bests, the team didn’t have the same fortune as their varsity 1 counterparts. The Tigers also posted their best games of the year to steal the 23-2 victory.
Elizabeth Braley rolled a 150 game and 424 series. Mel Jacobson a produced 147 game and Alice Callahan rolled a 149 game.
Brandon Valley’s varsity boys struggled with difficult lane conditions and fell short in the overall 36-14 match.
BV’s varsity 1 boys were topped by Ozzy Erickson’s season-best 214 game and 578 series. Unfotunately, they lost 22-3.
Maxwell Kane offered a 210 game and junior Trey Reindl finished with a 539 series as the Lynx varsity 2 boys fell 14-11.
Eighth-grader Ian Erickson registered all-time bests, a 204 game and 512 series, to lift BV’s junior varsity 1 team to a 24-1 victory. Also posting season bests from the JV ranks were Trevor Dean and Mason Rusten, and Seth Waldner.
The Lynx hope to regroup this week as they prepare for a home match this Friday at Empire Bowl, when they host the O’Gorman Knights at 4 p.m.
