This Fourth: 5 fireworks do's and don'ts

As the nation approaches Independence Day, the city of Brandon advises residents to celebrate the Fourth of July safely and legally by adhering to the following:
1. Do shoot fireworks in the city limits during the designated times, which are 7-11 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 4. 
2. Don’t discharge in public right of ways. Fireworks are permitted only on private property. Parks are prohibited.
3. Do use caution. “Just be careful,” said city administrator Bryan Read.
4. Don’t allow a minor child to discharge fireworks without adult supervision.
5. Do dispose of all trash and debris safely. “Be a good neighbor and clean up,” Read advised.
