Brandon Valley High School will hold its annual districtwide Fine Arts Night from 5:30 to 7:30 Thursday, March 28.
For the first time, the event will include art from students from throughout the school district.
According to Brandon Elementary art teacher Erin Rieff, who started Fine Arts Night four years ago, the event has expanded this spring to include all seven schools in the district.
“We are excited to see the BV art community come together and the opportunity this event opens for families to spend some creative and self-expressive time together,” Rieff said.
Jennifer Terwee, art teacher at Brandon Valley Intermediate School, is helping to organize the event. In addition to visiting artists from Brandon and Valley Springs, Terwee said Fine Arts Night will include a Lego show from students who would like to showcase their building talents, an extensive art display from students in grades K-12, and a progressive art show where teachers will submit a few portraits from each grade reflecting student’s talents at different levels.
“Last but not least, it is a night of family fun, where kids get to create art and explore new art materials,” Terwee said.
Fine Arts Night is sponsored by the Brandon Valley Fine Arts Department and open to all BV students and families in grades K-12. Students may bring blank T-shirts to be printed with this year’s logo, and parents are asked to stay with their children throughout the event.
