Jackson Faber cashed in a round of 81 at Friday’s Huron Invitational to come away with 26th place in the 16-team event.
“He has been very consistent for the Lynx so far this year,” head coach Scott Carroll said.
The Gusso brothers - Mitch and Matt - carded respective scores of 84 and 85, to garner 40th and 44th place.
Carroll said after starting off the year well at Willow, the team hasn’t played up to Lynx standards.
“We showed that we can compete with some of the better teams in the state, but we need to stay in the 70’s in order to compete. They are a couple of shots away each round. They work hard and hopefully they will take that next step as we head into the heart of the season.
As a team, the Lynx placed 11th. Justin Kolb, of O’Gorman, carded a 4-under-par 68 to win medalist honors. The O’G Knights won the team title.
Following Monday’s home triangular and Tuesday’s triangular with Lincoln and O’G, the Lynx compete next on Sept. 8 at the Yankton Invite.
