Eight Lynx garner All-Metro Conference soccer honors
Four players from both the Lynx girls’ and boys’ soccer teams were selected to their respective 2017 Metro Athletic All-Conference teams.
The boys team includes senior defender Micah Van Hemert, junior midfielder Jacob Frantzen, sophomores Wyatt Haas (forward) and Lucas Johnson (midfielder).
Two juniors and two seniors represent Brandon Valley on the girls’ 2017 Metro All-Conference squad. The seniors are Kianna Thelen (goalkeeper) and Arianna Stangohr (defender); the junior defenders are Ashley Ask and Morgan Thompson.
The Metro All-Conference squad also includes: Lincoln: Morgan Bachelor, Lucy Dekkenga, Ryley Heier, Morgan McDonnel, Michaela Mohr and Elisabeth Tifft; O’Gorman: Ashleigh Aarbo, Jillian Barkus, Sophia Connelly, Miranda Ekern; Roosevelt: Alexis Anfinson, Hattie Giblin, Emma Irsfeld, Harper Smoot; Washington: Megan Etrheim and Carlie Kray.
Joining the four Lynx players on the boys’ Metro All-Conference roster are: Lincoln: David Bizimana, Liam Downey, Anwar Ibrahim, Nicholas Leach, Michael Schmidtman, Isaac Woods; O’Gorman: Riley Aarbo, Gabe Dally, Ethan Glissendorf, Ben Nelson, Patryk Stys, Preston Zimprich; Roosevelt: Brady Cork, Tucker HenningWard, Christopher Kirschman, Andres Vasquez; Washington: Shodo Mahamed and Alex Stoneall.
