During COVID-19, ‘We’ has never been more important

Thank you, Brandon Valley families! Without your academic support of our students during the COVID-19 school closure, our children could not have been successful. Your tremendous efforts through our Distance Learning Plan encouraged our Lynx to be “Active Distance Learners” and our preliminary academic closure data demonstrates your incredible work at home during the closure.
The district’s core operating principle is “We create learning environments that result in success.” Through COVID-19, the “We” has never been more important and your commitment to your child’s education and discipline to maintain engagement will have lasting effects on our students’ academic successes. Thank you for making learning a priority!
In collaboration with state and local officials and drawing upon considerations from the Center for Disease Control, whereas feasible and practical, the Brandon Valley School District has developed a three-phase “Summer 2020 - Return to School Plan”, with the end goal of school beginning as scheduled in August. As we prepare to enter Phase I, the absolute most critical component of the plan is a cooperative partnership with parents/guardians, staff, and students, where individuals commit to 1.) Stay home if sick, 2.) Practice good hygiene, (handwashing/sanitizing), and 3.) Practice social distancing, whereas possible.
Utilizing a phased approach will allow for the school district to implement best practices based on the current situation, allow for the timely re-evaluation of practices within each phase, and communicate in a timely manner that allows for necessary planning. All student academic and activity programming during Phase I is voluntary.
Make certain to monitor the district’s COVID-19 Information website for the most up to date information.
Go Lynx!
