BAFP’s August needs
The Brandon Area Food Pantry needs for August are large cans of chicken, flour and sugar, Pop Tarts, Spam, beef stew and deodorant.
Before donating food items, please check expiration dates. Monetary donations are also appreciated.
The BAFP is also accepting used eye glasses and hearing aids on behalf of the Brandon Lions Club.
The BAFP is open 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 406 Main Ave. To learn more, call 605-582-7001. 
 
Brandon Lutheran WELCA school supply drive
Brandon Lutheran WELCA is collecting school supplies through August in the church narthex. A list of items needed for each school kit are available at the church welcome center.
Jerry and Mary Entinger have secured a Thrivent grant, which will be used to purchase school bags.

Brandon Praying Moms meets Aug. 15
An informational meeting for Brandon’s Praying Moms group (moms of college students) is planned for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Brandon Valley Assembly of God in the adult classroom.

Springdale Lutheran military appreciation Aug. 19 
Springdale Lutheran Church will host a military appreciation event 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19. 
All military, guard members, veterans, and their families are invited to enjoy free food, games, inflatable, and music.
From 69th Street and Highway 11, go east 2 miles and south one-half mile to find the church.
