Clarice C. Adema, 76

Clarice C. Adema, 76, of Mitchell, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 peacefully at Avera Queen of Peace under hospice care. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 at First Reformed Church in Mitchell. Burial will be in the Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.13 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. 
Clarice C. Adema, daughter of Joe and Hattie (Bonsma) Odens, was born Feb. 27, 1942 in Springfield, S.D. She graduated from Springfield High School. Clarice was united in marriage with James Adema on Aug. 25, 1960. She was a stay at home mom for many years also taking in laundry, babysitting and ironing for senior citizens. Later, Clarice was employed at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in the housekeeping department. 
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, walking and visiting with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved traveling with her husband, Jim, on their motorcycle and in their car. 
Clarice was a member of First Reformed Church in Mitchell. 
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Jim Adema, Mitchell; six children, Wilma (Al) Kirkeby, Brandon, Loren (Nancy) Adema, Sioux Falls, Linda Binstock, Pierre, Leon Adema, Sioux Falls, Carla Strauser, Mansfield, Texas, and Brian (Karie) Adema, Wellington, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jerome (Donna) Odens, Springfield, Richard (Carolyn) Odens, Harrisburg, and John (Joanne) Odens, Ferndale, Wash.; two sisters, Roseann (Marv) Brinkman, Ramona, and Joleen (Sam) Bursell, Umatilla, Ore. 
She was preceded in death by her parents. 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Reformed Church Kitchen Ministry.
