Charles R. Doman Legion Auxiliary plans Memorial Day

The Charles R. Doman American Legion Auxiliary Unit #131 in Valley Springs held their monthly meeting on Monday, April 16, at 7 p.m. Old business included discussion about a fireproof safe for unit records. New business discussed included the Memorial Day dinner and election of officers. After careful consideration, all officers remain the same. Gloria Bonjour is president. Tina Vugteveen is vice president. Elsie Brouwer is secretary. Gwynn Bodewitz is treasurer. Kathy Stelzer is chaplain.

As usual, the Auxiliary will be serving dinner following the Legion’s Memorial Day service on Monday, May 28. The menu will be scalloped potatoes and ham, corn, coleslaw, dinner rolls, and ice cream cups. The cost will be a freewill donation. Serving will begin when everyone returns from the conclusion of the program out at the cemetery, which will be around noon.

The next Auxiliary meeting will be Monday, May 21 at 7 p.m.
