The Lady Lynx competitive cheer team picked up seventh-place at the Watertown Invitational Sept. 3, finishing in the middle of the 15-team competition.
Last week’s competition was the second of the season for the Lady Lynx, who earned 226 cumulative points in the stunt/tumble division at Watertown.
“We improved in the jump category in both execution and difficulty,” noted BV head cheer coach Katee Lane. “Our tumbling and opening tosses were also executed well.”
Grand champion cheer went to Sioux Falls Roosevelt, who racked up 277 points, followed by Harrisburg with 267 points and Sioux Falls O’Gorman with 266.5 points. Sioux Falls Washington was fourth (250), and Sioux Valley fifth (249.5).
“We will continue to clean our partner stunts and pyramid for our parent preview show next week, as well as for the upcoming Brookings Invite,” Lane said. “It is always fun to watch them grow and improve with each competition.”
Next, the Lady Lynx compete in the Brookings Invitational this Saturday at the Swiftel Center, before heading to Huron on Sept. 24.
BV hosts the Brandon Valley Invitational Oct. 8 at the high school.
