Brandon Valley High’s competitive cheer squad captured fourth place at the Huron Invite Sept. 24, accumulating 217 points for the ranking in the 10-team event.
Harrisburg claimed grand champion honors with 240.5 points, followed by Sioux Falls Washington in second with 235 points and Brookings in third with 233 points.
BV cheer coach Katee Lane said the Lady Lynx are steadily improving their routine as they work through the season.
“We continue to see deductions as we work towards perfecting our pyramid. The cheer portion of the routine and our partner stunts are improving, and we look forward to putting out a clean routine at the Pentagon next Saturday,” Lane said.
This week, the Lady Lynx take their cheer routine to the Sanford Pentagon on Saturday for the Sioux Falls Roosevelt-hosted invite that gets underway at 11 a.m. Next Tuesday, the squad competes before the hometown crowd at the Lynx Invite starting at 5 p.m.
